Welcome to Earth in Squares!

To whomever is reading this,

Welcome to Earth in Squares. I’ve been an avid traveler ever since I was old enough to begin upholding any kind of savings (just to immediately blow it all on more travel). It all started with a trip to Vegas. Since then, I have traveled through 4 continents, 20 countries, and countless cities. I have picked up conversational phrases in 5 languages, slept in some of the nicest hotels in the world, and some of the... not so nice. The best part of it all, is I have learnt so much about other cultures and have met some of the greatest people you can cross paths with in this lifetime.

To me, that’s what travel is all about. It’s about experience. It’s stepping out of your comfort zone into a vast world just waiting to be explored. It’s filled with phenomenal people you have yet to meet and bond with. It’s about discovering cuisines and then desperately searching for a comparable option once your home (you seldom do). It’s about stepping outside of yourself and what you’ve been conditioned to know and opening your mind and heart to a different perspective.

I’ve created this blog with some specific intentions in mind: to educate, to entertain and to encourage. My passion for travel goes beyond myself. I want to teach others about the customs and traditions of others, people they would likely never encounter in their day-to-day. I want to expose different worlds, ones that teach us more about ourselves then we could ever imagine. I want to entertain with my personal stories, mistakes and experiences, because lets be honest, travel always has some hiccups and unexpected detours along the way, but those make the best stories! Finally, I want to encourage you to see this world. I want to inspire others to exit their comfort zone and go live outside the confines of your own city or country.

Some things you can expect to find upcoming on this blog are:

Destination Guides – Planning a trip to a particular destination? I will share with you tips and tricks, suggest places to go, things to do, food and drink options, and, if applicable, share some things you should avoid.

Advice – Don’t have a lot of money? No problem. I have traveled while in school, while I was working part time making coffees, while paying exorbitant amounts of rent living in a large metropolitan city. Travel is completely do-able on a strict budget, and I will teach you how to do it. Want to travel but have no one to go with? Solo travel is my niche. I will outline helpful tips so  that you will never feel afraid or uneasy jetting off alone. Anything I can offer to ease your worries or eradicate whatever it is that is stopping you from taking this leap, I am happy to share.

Hotel Reviews – I have stayed in some of the most world class hotels out there, and I have stayed in bed bug infested hostels (balance, right?). I’ve experienced the entire spectrum, and I will share my experience with you in hopes to help you avoid the latter.

Photo/Video Content – I am no Scorsese and I will never pretend to be, however I know the importance of visual content so I make sure to film and take as many photos as I can during my travels and make it as aesthetic as I know how. Bear with me…

I am so excited to bring you along on this journey with me! If anything resonates with you or you don’t want to miss an update, make sure to subscribe!
